Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Modesto Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Modesto Palmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Francis DeMontford and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palmer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stevens paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Stevens looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Palmer has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Stevens is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Palmer manages to pull guard.

Palmer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stevens's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Stevens swats away the attempt to clinch by Palmer.

Palmer jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Stevens walks away with a smile on his face. Palmer gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Palmer rushes Stevens and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Palmer is looking to control Stevens's arms but Stevens gets an underhook and turns him. Now Palmer has his back to the cage.
Stevens is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Stevens cracks Palmer with a right hand to the side of the head.
Horrible takedown attempt by Stevens or perhaps it was just good defense by Palmer, which made it look bad.

Stevens feints a jab promting Palmer to slip. Stevens then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Palmer slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Palmer gets control of Stevens's arms and successfully pulls guard. Palmer will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Stevens might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Palmer haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Palmer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stevens defends it easily.

Palmer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stevens gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jason Stevens showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
