Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Vaughan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alistair Hendry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hendry has chosen Scotland The Brave as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hendry changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vaughan tries to avoid it but Hendry manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vaughan to the ground. Vaughan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hendry takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Vaughan tries to sprawl but Hendry drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Hendry not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Hendry not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Vaughan has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Hendry working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

No joy there for Vaughan , who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Shane Vaughan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hendry lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vaughan circles away quickly and effectively.
Hendry on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Vaughan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Vaughan jabs Hendry to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Vaughan lands with an uppercut that bounces Hendry off the cage and back into range.

Hendry takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Vaughan ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Hendry looks winded!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vaughan fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Vaughan cracks Hendry with a right hand to the side of the head.

Hendry takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Hendry gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Vaughan gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shane Vaughan !
