Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Calvin J. Candie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Hatfield!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Candie shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hatfield is trying to defend but Candie finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Candie lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Candie prevents Hatfield from improving his position.
Hatfield wants to control but Candie is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Candie will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hatfield regains full guard. Nicely done.
Hatfield keeping moving, preventing Candie from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hatfield had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Candie defends it easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Candie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hatfield wants to sweep here but Candie controlling him for the moment.
Candie lands a couple of elbows.

Hatfield has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Candie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hatfield lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Candie wants to stand but Hatfield is controlling the position.

Candie wants to stand and escape but Hatfield is having none of it.
Hatfield tries to free his leg and advance position but Candie is retaining full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Candie wants to hit a switch here but Hatfield passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Candie there!

Hatfield seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Candie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Hatfield is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Candie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Hatfield is working for a submission of some sort.
Candie wants to control but Hatfield is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Candie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Hatfield tries to get to full guard but Candie has control of the leg.
Hatfield has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at GreatWall MMA. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Candie seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Hatfield wants to improve his position but Candie is controlling well.

Candie seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Candie decides to return to a standing position.
Candie's corner calls for a 1-2. Candie obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

BOOM! Candie connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Candie drops a big elbow. That's hurt Hatfield! More shots from Candie and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Calvin J. Candie decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
