PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramirez comes to the cage accompanied by Megadeth-Trust. Liddell has chosen It's Dark and Hell Is Hot as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 33 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alex Ramirez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 38 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chuck Liddell!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liddell has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ramirez finds it's way round the side to connect with Liddell's head.
Ramirez looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Liddell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ramirez moves away.

Ramirez shoots in and drives through. Liddell sprawls well.

Liddell shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ramirez napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Liddell tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Liddell has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Liddell's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Liddell wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ramirez, who protects the arm well.

Liddell stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Ramirez is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Liddell pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Ramirez has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Liddell is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Liddell attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Liddell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ramirez's waist but Ramirez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Liddell off to one side.

Ramirez is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Liddell is working for a rear naked choke. Ramirez is not defending it well and Liddell has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Ramirez refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Ramirez's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
