Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Victor Costa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mika Salama!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Costa shoots in looking for a takedown. Salama tries to sprawl out of it but Costa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Salama manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Salama scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Costa gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Costa manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Salama keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Costa has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Salama regains guard immediately.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mika Salama hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Salama looks for the body kick but Costa saw that one coming.

Salama shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Costa's guard.

Salama drops back, looking for a kneebar! Costa looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Costa looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Costa!

Salama takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Costa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Salama keeps working.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
