PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Travis Mitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wes Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mitchell comes into the arena with Darude - Sandstorm blaring out of the sound system. On his way into the cage it seems that Travis Mitchell has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Travis Mitchell seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mitchell lands a nice hook to Smith's body. Smith takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Mitchell jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Smith throws a head kick but Mitchell moves out of range.

Smith takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Mitchell misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smith.
Smith takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Mitchell stuffs the takedown.
Travis Mitchell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wes Smith.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mitchell slips under a jab.

Smith closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mitchell did well to prevent Smith getting side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Smith is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mitchell has managed to free his arm - good work.

Smith looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Smith is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Mitchell rolls with it to try and escape but Smith cranks on the arm and Mitchell is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
