PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luis Fierro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iphone Apple (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Apple tries to clinch up.
Apple throws out a leg kick but Fierro moves out of range and Apple only half commits.
Apple moves in looking to clinch but Fierro pushes him off.
Apple connects with an inside leg kick.
Fierro stuffs the takedown.
Apple buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Apple tries to clinch up.
Apple throws a low kick but it's checked well by Fierro.
Fierro connects with a jab.

Apple has closed the distance and engaged Fierro in a clinch.

Fierro pushes Apple back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Apple is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Fierro pulls him back up using the underhooks.
The referee is keeping an eye on Apple - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Apple is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Fierro is defending well for now.

Fierro lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Fierro.

Apple tries a knee to the head but Fierro blocks it.

Apple tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Fierro avoids it.
Apple throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Fierro blocks it with crossed arms.

Apple breaks from the clinch.
Apple doesn't manage to clinch there - Fierro circles away.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Iphone Apple wasn't active enough on the ground.

Iphone Apple showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Fierro throws a right and a left that Apple avoids nicely.

Fierro drops Apple with a right and a left! Fierro comes rushing in but Apple regains his composure and manages to keep Fierro in guard.

It looks like Iphone Apple has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fierro wants to control from the top but Apple keeps moving.
Apple is still in real trouble! Can Fierro finish him?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Apple has his foot on Fierro's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fierro works his way back into a safe position though.

Apple will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Fierro really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We're going to have a standup here because Luis Fierro wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Apple wants to clinch.
Luis Fierro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Apple takes a jab right on the kisser.

Fierro cracks Apple with an uppercut from hell and Apple crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Fierro's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Fierro will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Apple is pulling down on Fierro's head to control his posture.
Apple is striking off his back. Fierro thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
