Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nestor Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Tremblay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve Tremblay has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nestor Head!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Tremblay!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Head drives through with a takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Head makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Tremblay is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Head is controlling him.
Head wanted to stand there but Tremblay had control of the position.
Head controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Head throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Tremblay is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Head is controlling him.
Head slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Nestor Head just wasn't active enough.

Head closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Tremblay keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Tremblay has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Head is working away from the top position though.
Head wants to stand up but Tremblay is controlling the position.
Tremblay wants to control but Head is keeping busy.
Head tries to stand and escape but Tremblay actually recovers to full guard.
Tremblay looking to hit a scissor sweep but Head is one step ahead there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Head in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Head has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tremblay is proving hard to escape from.
Head content to stall in guard here.
Tremblay looking to control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Tremblay shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Head counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Head controlling from the top position.

Tremblay looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Tremblay trying to control the position.
Head scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Head wanted to stand there but Tremblay had control of the position.
Head won't allow Tremblay to sweep him here.
Head stands up over Tremblay, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Head has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Tremblay is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Head looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tremblay is trying to keep Head in close.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tremblay is on top in guard.
Tremblay wants to stand and escape but instead Head has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Head in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Head missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nestor Head dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Tremblay doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Head counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Tremblay's guard now.
Head sitting in guard here, content to control.
Head wants to stand but Tremblay is controlling his posture from full guard.

Tremblay has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Head should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Tremblay has tightened it up now! Head should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Steve Tremblay!
