Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Penn Reyes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Martin Riggs!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riggs scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Reyes doesn't seem bothered though.
Reyes looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Riggs has taken the fight to the clinch.
Riggs missing with knees to the body.
Riggs works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Riggs displaying some good clinch control by pressing Reyes up against the cage.

Reyes goes for a takedown attempt but Riggs pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Reyes doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Riggs tries to close the distance and clinch up but Reyes swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Riggs throws out a leg kick but Reyes moves out of range and Riggs only half commits.

Reyes tries to keep at a distance but Riggs has taken the fight into the clinch.

Riggs manages to break the clinch.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Riggs lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Reyes has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Reyes and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Riggs tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Riggs tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reyes swivels and escapes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Riggs pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Riggs tries to close the distance and clinch but Reyes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Riggs changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Donk. Riggs catches Reyes right on the button with a cross.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Riggs must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Riggs is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Riggs lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Riggs cracks Reyes with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Riggs has control of Reyes's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Reyes regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Reyes is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Titan Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Reyes is squirming around, avoiding Riggs's attempts to control the action.

Riggs tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee warns Reyes that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Riggs decides to stand up, so the ref orders Reyes to his feet.
Riggs shoots in and drives through. Reyes sprawls well.

Riggs pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Riggs dives in and grabs Reyes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Reyes pushes down on Riggs's head and hops out.

and Riggs counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Riggs throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Reyes blocks it with crossed arms.
Reyes is trying to force a seperation but Riggs has the dominant position.

Riggs breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Riggs misses with a body kick.
Riggs turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Riggs misses with a low kick as Reyes jumps back.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Riggs.
Joe Penn Reyes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Martin Riggs.
Reyes moves out of range as Riggs strikes.

Reyes shoots in for a takedown but Riggs shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Martin Riggs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Riggs has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
