Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lee Kwang Soo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Makao Matsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kwang Soo comes to the cage accompanied by Smells Like Teen Spirit. Matsumoto has chosen Sepultura - Territory as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 20 - 0, fighting out of London, Lee Kwang Soo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Makao Matsumoto!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsumoto misses with a jab, cross combination.
Matsumoto swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kwang Soo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Matsumoto throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Kwang Soo feints and then cracks Matsumoto's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Matsumoto down.

Kwang Soo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Matsumoto postures up in Kwang Soo's guard and throws a big left but Kwang Soo blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Matsumoto wants to pass the guard but Kwang Soo is keeping the position.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Matsumoto working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Matsumoto drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kwang Soo dives on top into guard.


Matsumoto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kwang Soo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A close round but Makao Matsumoto will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Matsumoto uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Matsumoto feints a jab promting Kwang Soo to slip. Matsumoto then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kwang Soo slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Kwang Soo connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
We've been told by Kwang Soo's head coaches at Placeholder name that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Matsumoto throws an elbow that misses. Kwang Soo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Matsumoto's guard. Nice move by Kwang Soo!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Matsumoto is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Kwang Soo reverses the position - he's now on top in Matsumoto's guard.

Kwang Soo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Kwang Soo cracks Matsumoto with a solid left hand.

And that's the end of the fight!
Makao Matsumoto comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Matsumoto has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
