The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves throws a leg kick but Small checks it.
A punch combination from Small misses.
Small uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Alves works the jab nicely.
Alves throws a push kick but Small slaps the foot to one side.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Small checks a leg kick.
Alves pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Small looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Small lands a nice hook to Alves's body. Alves takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Alves has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Small.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A telegraphed right hand from Alves misses the target.
Small lands with a right that hurts Alves. Alves looks to clinch but Small throws a short knee that drops Alves. This one is all over!
