Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lil Jon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pavel Sherbo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sherbo loads up on a big right hand but Jon slips the punch.
A punch lands to the side of Jon 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Jon misses with a takedown
and Sherbo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Jon drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Jon postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sherbo is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jon, into his guard.

Jon has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sherbo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Jon.

We've been hearing good reports from Jon's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Pavel Sherbo was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Sherbo scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jon doesn't seem bothered though.

Sherbo swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jon.
Jon shoots in looking for a takedown but Sherbo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sherbo avoids it really well and circles away.
Sherbo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Pavel Sherbo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jon tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sherbo defends well and Jon ends up having to push Sherbo into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Jon dives in and grabs Sherbo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sherbo pushes down on Jon's head and hops out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Sherbo leaves Jon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Jon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Jon thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Jon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sherbo defends it easily.

Sherbo has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Jon is landing a low percentage of strikes.
