Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ahmed Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dao Sinki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ahmed Day!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dao Sinki!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sinki tries to keep at a distance but Day has taken the fight into the clinch.
Sinki looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Day manages to pull guard.
Sinki postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Day looking for a sweep. Not yet Day, not yet.

Day is pulling down on Sinki's head to control his posture.
Day has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Sinki has passed into side control.

Sinki decides to stand back up. Sinki steps back and let's Day get back to his feet.

Day has taken the fight to the clinch.
Day is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Sinki is defending well.
Sinki tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Day avoids it.

Day throws a big elbow that misses.
Day throws a strike but Sinki rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Sinki stays in close to Day's body and controls the position.
Sinki won't allow Day to sweep him here.
Day is working hard here to advance position.
Sinki prevents Day from getting back to his feet.
Sinki's corner is telling him to maintain position.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dao Sinki wasn't active enough on the ground.

Sinki closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Day did well to prevent Sinki getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are battling for position here. Day manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Day lands some strikes from the bottom.
Day wants to sweep but no luck.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Day will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Day not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sinki slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Day tries to improve position but can't.

Sinki is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Day is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

My spies in Cozad MMA Rio inform me that Sinki has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Sinki passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Day!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
You get the feeling that Day really doesn't like being in this position too much.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ahmed Day will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Day goes for a takedown in the clinch but Sinki prevents it.

Day has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sinki uses from the top position.

Sinki ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Sinki no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Day wants to stand and escape but instead Sinki has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Sinki drops back looking for a leg! Day is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Day manages to kick Sinki off! Sinki jumps back into Day's guard.

Sinki gets to his feet. Day looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Sinki clinches.
Day jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sinki walks away with a smile on his face. Day gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ahmed Day. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Day tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sinki sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Day somewhat.
Day shoots for a takedown but Sinki saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sinki displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Day.

Sinki fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Day, pushing him back against the cage.

Sinki wants to stall.

Day jumps into guard, dragging Sinki to the mat.
Day wants to get back to his feet but Sinki is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Sinki stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Sinki with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Dao Sinki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Day shoots and misses
and Sinki counters with a thumping low kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Day has his takedown stuffed

and Sinki counters by clinching up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Dao Sinki will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Sinki throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Day tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sinki is in Day's guard.
Day wants to sweep here but Sinki controlling him for the moment.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ahmed Day.

Day has closed the distance and engaged Sinki in a clinch.

Day breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Day really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Day works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Sinki manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Sinki has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Day has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Day drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sinki dives on top into guard.
Sinki is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Day tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Day is trying to hold Sinki in close to prevent damage but Sinki has managed to pass into half guard.

Sinki is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Day wants to improve his position but Sinki is controlling well.
Sinki thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Day's head.
Sinki perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Day is looking for a sweep. Sinki is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sinki decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dao Sinki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Sinki has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
