Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Benjamin Koppinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iain James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koppinen throws a head kick that misses.
We've been informed that James has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
James tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Koppinen is able to avoid easily.
James gets in close and instigates a clinch.
James pulls guard successfully.
Koppinen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
James is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
James working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Koppinen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but James is tightening it up a little... Koppinen has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Koppinen reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Koppinen taps out! Nice BJJ there by James!
