Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Drake Kartella (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georgio Springer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kartella comes to the cage accompanied by Rollin. Drake Kartella has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Ron Honeybunn and Topper Green.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Springer is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Springer fails with the takedown
and Kartella counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Springer gets a takedown into half guard.
Kartella keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Springer seems to be looking for submissions.

Springer is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Springer is looking to take a break and control but Kartella is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Springer throwing shots but Kartella is blocking nicely.

Springer seems to be working for a kimura but Kartella defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Springer is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Kartella still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Kartella has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Kartella tries to get to his feet but Springer is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Kartella in his guard.

Kartella is looking to stand up but Springer won't let him.
Springer throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Kartella wants to stand but Springer has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Kartella has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Springer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Springer misses with a body shot.
Springer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kartella as he avoids it easily.

A combination from Springer does no damage.
Springer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kartella connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Springer misses with a double jab.
No joy there for Springer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Springer shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kartella as he jumps to the side.
Drake Kartella has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Georgio Springer.
Springer looks winded!
Springer closes the distance but Kartella moves to the side
and Kartella connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Springer throws a big shot that misses.
Kartella keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kartella pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Springer back to the cage. Kartella follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Georgio Springer has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kartella drops Springer with a beautiful combination! Springer stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kartella is looking for the KO!

Springer is rocked!
Kartella fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Springer is still on wobbly legs! Can Kartella finish him?
Kartella walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Springer drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Kartella swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Springer's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
