Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reinaldo Davidson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Reinaldo Davidson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Emelianenko!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Konstantin Menshow and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Davidson but Davidson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Emelianenko fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Davidson, pushing him back against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
The referee calls for Davidson to work.
Davidson with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Emelianenko keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Davidson's efforts to push away.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Emelianenko.

Emelianenko feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Davidson is on top in guard.

Emelianenko clinches.
Emelianenko is trying to push Davidson away but Davidson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Emelianenko jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Davidson walks away with a smile on his face. Emelianenko gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Davidson tries to keep at a distance but Emelianenko has taken the fight into the clinch.

Emelianenko is looking to break free of the clinch but Davidson has double underhooks.
Come on Davidson - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Davidson seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Davidson is adopting a defensive guard.
Davidson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Davidson pulls Emelianenko in close to prevent any damage.
Davidson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Emelianenko's guard.

Emelianenko has momentary wrist control but Davidson slips an elbow through the middle.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Davidson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Davidson wants to get back to striking at distance but Emelianenko won't allow it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Emelianenko can do anything to dispel that myth.
