Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rickie Langley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Boyka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rickie Langley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yuri Boyka!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Valeri Chadov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyka with a lazy takedown attempt

and Langley counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Boyka's guard now.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Boyka pulls Langley in to control the position.
Langley stops Boyka from standing up.
Langley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Boyka on the ground.
Boyka looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Langley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Langley loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Boyka is looking to stand up but Langley isn't so interested in that idea.
Boyka is trying to control the position but Langley postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Yuri Boyka.

Langley shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Langley was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Boyka takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Boyka is looking to regain half guard here but Langley keeps moving and retains side control.
Boyka manages to work his way to half guard, despite Langley's best efforts.
Langley winds up and cracks Boyka with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Langley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Boyka is pressing down on Langley's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Yuri Boyka hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Langley takes one to the side of the head.
Langley throws a nice head kick!
Boyka takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Langley bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Boyka has one of Langley's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
Boyka looks winded!
Boyka tries to bench press Langley off him but Langley keeps the position.
Boyka gets back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Langley is trying to work for a kimura but Boyka is defending well.

Boyka trying to hold on to Langley's head to control him but Langley postures up.
Boyka regains full guard. Nicely done.
Langley throws an elbow that misses. Boyka uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Langley's guard. Nice move by Boyka!
Boyka prevents Langley from getting back to his feet.
Langley is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Boyka holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Boyka wants to control but Langley is keeping busy.

Langley is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Langley thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Langley throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Boyka moves into full guard.
Langley throwing strikes but missing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Langley misses with a kick to the body.

Langley moves into the clinch.
Langley tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Boyka avoids it.
Boyka is pushing Langley up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Langley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Langley works Boyka's body with a nice hook.

Langley moves into the clinch.
Boyka tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Langley smiles and moves away.
Boyka swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Boyka shoots in for a takedown but Langley shows good takedown defense.

Langley throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Boyka avoids a kick to the body.

Boyka takes the fight into the clinch.
Boyka has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Langley avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Rickie Langley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yuri Boyka.

Boyka jumps guard and drags Langley to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Boyka tries to work over Langley's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Boyka wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Langley is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Langley takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Rickie Langley.
Boyka thows a body shot but no joy.

Boyka avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Langley misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Boyka is defended easily by Langley.
Langley doesn't manage to clinch there - Boyka circles away.
Langley closes the distance and clinches up with Boyka, looking for a takedown. Langley pushes Boyka against the cage but Boyka circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Boyka darts in and clinches Langley up against the cage.
Boyka is looking to break free of the clinch but Langley has double underhooks.
Boyka tries to pull guard but Langley forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Langley wants to break free but Boyka has control.
Boyka goes for a takedown attempt but Langley pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
