Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roger Sheck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Squid Ward!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Chris Dean and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Sheck counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Sheck is working for a kimura but Ward is defending it quite comfortably.
Sheck frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Sheck trying to control but Ward is having none of it.
Sheck dominating with strikes here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sheck with shots to the head and body - Ward looks very uncomfortable down there.
Ward is bucking up trying to escape but Sheck cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Ward really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sheck. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sheck cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Sheck takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Ward is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Sheck.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sheck is persistently looking for the submission but Ward is defending it well.
Sheck cracks Ward with a big right hand from the back mount! Ward immediately covers up and the referee dives in to save him under a barrage of more strikes! Sheck takes this one by TKO!
