Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Wensink (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aristos Ioannidis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wensink comes to the cage accompanied by Momma Said Knock You Out. Ioannidis has chosen If I Can't - 50 Cent as his entrance music. Aristos Ioannidis has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with John Wensink's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Wensink!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aristos Ioannidis!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wensink misses with a straight left.
Wensink lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Ioannidis shoots for a takedown but Wensink saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Wensink misses with a looping right.
Ioannidis moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Ioannidis gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Wensink.
Ioannidis throws a low kick but it's checked well by Wensink.
Wensink is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Wensink takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ioannidis tries to clinch up but Wensink circles away and keeps his distance.

Ioannidis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wensink moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Wensink throws an elbow that misses. Ioannidis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wensink's guard. Nice move by Ioannidis!

Wensink throws a lazy right hand but Ioannidis sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Wensink tries to control Ioannidis's body but Ioannidis pushes him off. Wensink squirms to his side and now Ioannidis has his back!

Aristos Ioannidis has got the better of the ground game so far.

Ioannidis is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Wensink.
