PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brendon Toner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Tupac -Ambitionz Az A Ridah. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brendon Toner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gary Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Toner is trying to stall.
Toner looking for a takedown.
Jackson prevents the takedown attempt.

Jackson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Jackson misses with a body shot.
Jackson looks to land a body kick but Toner moved away.
Toner misses with a straight right.

Jackson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Toner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Toner makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Toner wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position.

Toner thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Toner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jackson wants to stand but Toner is controlling the position.
Toner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Toner prevents Jackson from getting back to his feet.
Toner trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Jackson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jackson lands in his opponent's guard.
Toner is breathing heavily.
Toner keeping full guard, as Jackson tries to pass.
Jackson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Toner tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Toner looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Toner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jackson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Toner wants to sweep but no luck.

Jackson has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Toner to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Jackson is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Toner pulls down on the head and he's put Jackson to sleep! This one is all over!
