Fairfax fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Wesley checks it well.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Wesley has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Horrible takedown attempt by Wesley or perhaps it was just good defense by Fairfax, which made it look bad.
Wesley throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fairfax's waist but Fairfax gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wesley off to one side.

and Wesley counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Wesley lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Wesley has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Fairfax regains guard immediately.
Wesley arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Fairfax's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
