Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksandr Kerzhakov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Hardy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aleksandr Kerzhakov!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hardy enables Kerzhakov to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hardy manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Kerzhakov stays in close to Hardy's body and controls the position.
Kerzhakov trying to control but Hardy is working from the bottom.
Hardy controls Kerzhakov momentarily but Kerzhakov frees himself.
Kerzhakov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hardy is keeping the position for now.
Hardy seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Kerzhakov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Aleksandr Kerzhakov wasn't active enough on the ground.

Kerzhakov gets a double leg takedown into Hardy's guard.

Kerzhakov wants to control from the top but Hardy keeps moving.

Hardy has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kerzhakov is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hardy.

Hardy is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Hardy is pressing down on Kerzhakov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Hardy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Kerzhakov goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hardy rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kerzhakov's guard! Nice work there by Hardy!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kerzhakov is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hardy is controlling him.

Hardy is really struggling to control Kerzhakov but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Tom Hardy wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Kerzhakov stuffs the takedown attempt from Hardy. Hardy gets slowly back to his feet.

Kerzhakov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hardy's guard.
Hardy is trying to control the position but Kerzhakov postures up.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kerzhakov looking to sit in guard and control but Hardy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hardy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kerzhakov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hardy has Kerzhakov in his guard.
Kerzhakov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aleksandr Kerzhakov dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Hardy gets caught napping as Kerzhakov dives in and scores a takedown. Hardy manages to retain guard.

Hardy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kerzhakov defends well.

Let's hope that Kerzhakov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kerzhakov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Kerzhakov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hardy isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kerzhakov stacks Hardy on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kerzhakov!
Kerzhakov wants to control but Hardy is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Kerzhakov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hardy's guard.

Hardy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kerzhakov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kerzhakov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hardy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hardy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kerzhakov is looking to advance position but Hardy won't allow it.
Hardy is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kerzhakov's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kerzhakov's back!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hardy working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Kerzhakov is really stuck here.

Hardy looking to break Kerzhakov's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Kerzhakov remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Hardy will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hardy is persistently looking for the submission but Kerzhakov is defending it well.

Hardy is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Kerzhakov is defending well though. Hardy let's go of the attempt for now.

Kerzhakov rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Hardy looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hardy wants to pass the guard but Kerzhakov is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kerzhakov is in trouble now - Hardy has advanced to mount!

Hardy swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kerzhakov is now in Hardy's guard. A big mistake from Hardy there, giving up the dominant position!

Kerzhakov avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Kerzhakov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hardy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kerzhakov has managed to get both his arms back between Hardy's legs - danger averted.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that's the end of the fight!
Tom Hardy showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Hardy has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
