Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Terrence Leonard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Auruze Boruze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Terrence Leonard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Auruze Boruze!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Leonard gets caught flat footed, as Boruze shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Leonard working a defensive guard but Boruze passes into half guard.
Boruze wants to pass the guard but Leonard is defending well.
Boruze wants to take a breather but Leonard is having none of it.

Boruze wants to work for an arm triangle but Leonard is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Leonard might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Leonard tries to roll over but Boruze keeps him under control.
Boruze tries to pass the half guard into mount. Leonard knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Well, if Boruze is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Boruze is trying to control the action in half guard but Leonard is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Boruze lands with a punch from half guard.
Boruze really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Leonard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Boruze perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Boruze slips a nice elbow through Leonard's hands, connecting with Leonard's forehead.

Boruze takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Leonard really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

Leonard is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Boruze is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Leonard closes the distance and clinches.
Boruze tries to pull guard but Leonard holds him up against the cage and eventually Boruze drops back down to his feet.
Boruze wants a takedown.

Boruze manages to break the clinch.

Boruze tries to pull guard but Leonard forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Terrence Leonard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Auruze Boruze.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Boruze has hold of one of Leonard's legs. Leonard is fighting the takedown attempt but Boruze gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Boruze is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Boruze has gone for a leg lock! Leonard slips out almost immediately though and dives into Boruze's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Terrence Leonard just wasn't active enough.
Boruze tries for a takedown but Leonard sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Boruze has a takedown stuffed.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leonard wants to control from the top but Boruze keeps moving.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Boruze dives in for a single leg takedown but Leonard sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Auruze Boruze dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Leonard is looking for a sweep.

Leonard wants to stand up but Boruze is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Leonard is trying to improve his position.

Boruze thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Boruze creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Leonard sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Leonard wants to control from the top but Boruze keeps moving.

We're going to have a standup here because Terrence Leonard wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Boruze wants to improve his position but Leonard is controlling well.
Leonard tries to stand and escape but Boruze is controlling the position.

Auruze Boruze showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Leonard moves into range and clinches up with Boruze.

Leonard has Boruze pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Leonard pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Boruze tumbling to the mat - Leonard dives into Boruze's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Boruze shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Boruze seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Boruze wants to stand up but Leonard is controlling the position.

Boruze is trying to work for a kimura but Leonard is defending well.
Leonard pushes Boruze off looking to stand but Boruze dives back in and keeps control.

Leonard is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Boruze defends well.
Leonard pulls Boruze in close to prevent any damage.

Leonard manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Leonard has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Boruze is working away from the top position though.
Auruze Boruze is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

I would just about give that final round to Auruze Boruze.
