Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Glen Starner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher McCormick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCormick has chosen Shipping up to Boston as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Glen Starner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Christopher McCormick! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Daniel Blasius and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCormick throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Starner stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Starner gets a clinch. McCormick blocks a punch to the side of the head.
McCormick lands with a short head shot on the inside. Starner displaying some good clinch control by pressing McCormick up against the cage. McCormick lands a shoulder strike. Starner drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McCormick gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Starner scores with a shot to the side of McCormick's head. Starner working aggressively here.
A short right from McCormick. McCormick is fighting off a takedown attempt but Starner is just too persistent for him and manages to trip McCormick to the mat. McCormick regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Starner tries to free his leg and advance position but McCormick is retaining full guard. McCormick pulls Starner in close to his closed guard and prevents Starner from doing any damage or advancing position. McCormick is trying to control the position but Starner postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Starner wants to control from the top but McCormick keeps moving. Starner won't allow McCormick to get back to his feet. Starner is looking to work some ground and pound but McCormick has wrist control. Starner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Starner missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. McCormick trying to keep a closed guard but Starner is proving a slippery customer.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Christopher McCormick wasn't active enough on the ground. McCormick connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Christopher McCormick is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. McCormick misses with a body shot
and Starner counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Starner tries to free his leg and advance position but McCormick is retaining full guard. Starner stopping the sweep attempt from McCormick. Starner throws an elbow that misses. McCormick uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Starner's guard. Nice move by McCormick!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Starner is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McCormick defends well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McCormick is looking to stand up but Starner won't let him. McCormick stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Starner swivels though and keeps the full guard. McCormick got a little sloppy there for a moment and Starner has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McCormick has managed to get both his arms back between Starner's legs - danger averted. Starner has his foot on McCormick's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McCormick works his way back into a safe position though. McCormick preventing the sweep. McCormick trying to control but Starner is working from the bottom. McCormick is stalling in the full guard. Starner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McCormick can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. McCormick must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McCormick trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Starner being controlled here, momentarily.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Christopher McCormick hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. A jab from McCormick does it's job there. McCormick swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Starner counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in McCormick's guard now. Starner stopping the sweep attempt from McCormick. Starner throws a big right hand that misses. McCormick is trying to control the position but Starner postures up. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McCormick is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. McCormick looking for a sweep. Not yet McCormick, not yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Starner forces his way into half guard. Starner trying to mount his opponent but McCormick defends it. Starner trying to control the action but McCormick is working from the bottom. McCormick is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Starner scores with a couple of nice shots. McCormick avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Starner. McCormick is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Starner's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Starner's back! McCormick has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Starner's body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Starner tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! McCormick controlling his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Glen Starner dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Starner shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McCormick pinned against the cage. McCormick gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. McCormick throws a combination that misses and Starner counters with a takedown into side control. McCormick tries to buck Starner off but Starner is having none of it. Starner wants to control for a moment but McCormick uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McCormick moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Starner stopping the sweep attempt from McCormick. Starner with a flurry of punches that miss. Starner won't allow McCormick to sweep him here. Starner trying to control the position from guard on top but McCormick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Starner in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Starner postures up in McCormick's guard and throws a big left but McCormick blocks it. Starner in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. McCormick looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Starner trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. McCormick keeping moving, preventing Starner from controlling successfully. McCormick working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Starner.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McCormick wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Starner misses with a looping left. McCormick lands a nice leg kick that just misses Starner's sensitive parts. McCormick jabs Starner right on the nose. Starner blinks but takes it well. Glen Starner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. McCormick scores with the left hand. Starner knows he should have avoided that one. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McCormick throws a head kick that misses. McCormick scoring well with a low kick there.
McCormick looks to land a left hand but Starner moved out of range nicely. McCormick misses with a leg kick and Starner counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Glen Starner overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. McCormick looking to control.
Starner postures up in McCormick's guard and throws a big left but McCormick blocks it. Starner throws a big right hand that misses. McCormick looking to hit a scissor sweep but Starner is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Starner being controlled here momentarily. Starner tries to free his leg and advance position but McCormick is retaining full guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. McCormick being controlled here, momentarily. McCormick has control of Starner's left arm, preventing Starner from doing any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Christopher McCormick was stalling too much, according to the referee. McCormick misses with a wild combination.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Starner bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. A slow jab from McCormick misses its intended target. McCormick misses with a jab, cross combination.

McCormick doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McCormick lands a jab to Starner's midsection. McCormick pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McCormick lands with an overhand left. McCormick throws a half hearted mid kick. McCormick misses with a wild body shot. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Starner displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McCormick throws out the jab. McCormick misses with a straight right. Starner moves out of range as McCormick strikes. Starner swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Glen Starner will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Starner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McCormick tries to avoid it but Starner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McCormick to the ground. McCormick escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. McCormick feints and then cracks Starner's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Starner down. Nice defenses there by McCormick. McCormick looks to land a left hand but Starner moved out of range nicely. Starner on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. McCormick jabs Starner right on the nose. Starner blinks but takes it well. Starner tries to score a power double leg takedown but McCormick sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Starner somewhat. McCormick swings widly with a right hand
and Starner counters with a nice double leg into side control. McCormick won't be happy with that. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McCormick gets back to half guard. Starner is looking to take a break and control but McCormick is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. McCormick is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Starner's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Starner's back! McCormick controlling well, preventing Starner from escaping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
A lull in the action here.
McCormick is riding his opponent, not letting Starner buck him off. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Christopher McCormick. McCormick steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Starner. Christopher McCormick has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A combination from Starner does no damage. McCormick closes the distance but Starner moves to the side and Starner counters with a nice double leg into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Starner in particular looking to stall. Starner uses his free foot to push down on McCormick's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for McCormick. McCormick taking shots to the head. Starner is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. McCormick can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
McCormick is rocked! Starner controlling from mount. McCormick is still in real trouble! Can Starner finish him? Starner cracks McCormick with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Glen Starner! A relieved looking Glen Starner thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. The defeated Christopher McCormick had this to say: 'I'm sorry to my friends and family I came out here and gave it my best the part on a good show and wIn.I know I came up a little short I would love a rematch but will fight anybody I'll be back the next time I'll get The win'.
