PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robbie Law (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kerr's entrance music is Them Bones. A fine choice. Law is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Diablo Blvd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Kerr!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robbie Law!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kerr fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Law cracks Kerr with a right hand to the side of the head.
Law lands with a right hand.

It looks like Mark Kerr has been cut.
Law throws out a loose jab but Kerr uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kerr ducks under a wild hook from Law.
No luck for Kerr with that takedown attempt.
Kerr changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Law tries to avoid it but Kerr manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Law to the ground. Law escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Kerr. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Law is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kerr looks for a takedown but Law sprawls well.
Law cracks Kerr with an uppercut from hell and Kerr crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Law's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Law decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kerr, up you get!
Law lands a nice hook to Kerr's body. Kerr takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kerr is breathing heavily.
A punch combination from Law misses.
Law punishes Kerr's body with a nice straight punch.
Kerr takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Law lands a nice looking body shot.
Law throws a series of punches but Kerr avoids them all with ease.

Mark Kerr's cut is getting worse.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Law listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
An inside leg kick lands from Law.

Law moves into the clinch.
Law tries to break the clinch but Kerr is controlling the position.
Law stalling.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Law escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kerr takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Law rushes Kerr and presses him up against the cage.
Kerr prevents Law from breaking the clinch.
Kerr takes a knee right on the jaw!

Law manages to break the clinch.
Kerr takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Mark Kerr's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Law cracks Kerr with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Law has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Kerr to stand back up!

Jeez, Mark Kerr's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Law moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Law tries to clinch but Kerr moves out of range.
Law throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Law bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mark Kerr's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Robbie Law!
