Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeffrey Hudson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Spear Block !
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Block shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hudson as he avoids it easily.
Hudson stuffs the takedown attempt from Block . Block gets slowly back to his feet.

Block has Hudson up against the cage in a clinch.
Block is trying to break free.
Block can't break the clinch.
Block stalling the fight.

Block pulls guard successfully.
Block avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Block controls Hudson momentarily but Hudson frees himself.
Block wants to stand up but Hudson is controlling him.

Hudson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Block 's guard.
Hudson trying to control the position from guard on top but Block is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Block is trying to control the position but Hudson postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hudson shoots in for a double leg but Block sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Block shoots in looking for a takedown. Hudson tries to sprawl out of it but Block keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hudson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Spear Block seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Block takes a swing at Hudson's ribcage but misses.
Hudson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Block rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hudson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hudson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Block sprawls well. Block wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hudson gets slowly back to his feet.

Block closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Block tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

A frustrated look appears on Hudson's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Block is looking to control Hudson's arms but Hudson gets an underhook and turns him. Now Block has his back to the cage.

Block misses with some punches.
Block struggles to land a body shot inside as Hudson controls his hands.
Block is looking to break free of the clinch but Hudson has double underhooks.
Block is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hudson to keep the fight standing.

Hudson is working for takedown but Block is calmly controlling the position for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spear Block dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Block changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hudson tries to avoid it but Block manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hudson to the ground. Hudson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Block counters with a crisp one two that drops Hudson! Block thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Hudson to his feet! Hudson is in big trouble!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The referee is keeping an eye on Block - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Hudson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Block pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Hudson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hudson leaves Block with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Block tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hudson swivels and escapes.
Hudson misses with a takedown attempt - Block sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Block is breathing heavily.
Block fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hudson avoids it really well and circles away.
Spear Block seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Block has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hudson uses from the top position.

and Hudson counters with a good, hard body kick but Block shrugs it off.

Hudson gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hudson wants to take the fight to the mat but Block manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Block tries to stall but Hudson uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Block keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hudson's efforts to push away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Spear Block showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Hudson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Block doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hudson.

Hudson seems to be working for a kimura but Block defends the submission attempt.

Block makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Block .

Hudson stands and steps away. Block gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Block looks for the body kick but Hudson saw that one coming.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hudson.

Block darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Block is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Hudson is just holding on here. Block manages to take his back.
Block controlling well, preventing Hudson from escaping the position.
Block missing with strikes from the back.

Block looking for the choke but no joy.
Block somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.

Hudson showing good submission defense here.

Block is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hudson has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Hudson trying to control the position but Block manages to sink in the hooks.

And that's the end of the fight!
Spear Block comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Block has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
