The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz tries to clinch but Long moves out of range.

Long turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Long feints and then cracks Diaz's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Diaz down.

Diaz looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Long is looking to improve his position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Diaz in particular looking to stall.
Long is refusing to be controlled, as Diaz sits in half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rufus Diaz wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Diaz closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Long is looking to reverse the position.
Diaz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Diaz tries for a kimura but Long is defending well.
Diaz remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Diaz has hold of Long's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Long tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Diaz cranks the arm and Long screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Long, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
