Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ralph Wheeler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Arthur George!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Franklyn Lucas and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
George tries a head kick but it misses.

George closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Wheeler tries to improve position but can't.
Wheeler tries to escape but George is in control.
Wheeler tries to bench press George off him but George keeps the position.
Wheeler tries to escape but George is in control.

George decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Arthur George seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A chopping leg kick lands by George.

George shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than George was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wheeler misses with a strike from the bottom.

George decides to stand up, so the ref orders Wheeler to his feet.

George clinches up against the cage.

Wheeler is looking for a takedown.
Wheeler tries to pull guard but George holds him up against the cage and eventually Wheeler drops back down to his feet.

George escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

George drives through with a takedown into Wheeler's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Wheeler throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

George decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Wheeler, up you get!

George shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Wheeler manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Wheeler is breathing heavily.

Wheeler throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! George escapes and throws Wheeler's legs to the side, diving into side control!

George decides to stand back up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
George throws a nice looking combination but Wheeler bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Wheeler forces George back against the cage and clinches.

George escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wheeler blocks a head kick by George.
George tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wheeler paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Wheeler looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

George shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Wheeler napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Wheeler is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but George has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Wheeler has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Wheeler is looking for a sweep.
Wheeler wants to get back to his feet.
Wheeler throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Wheeler is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but George has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

George decides to stand up, so the ref orders Wheeler to his feet.

George closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Wheeler fails to pull the fight into his guard.

George throws a right and a left that Wheeler avoids nicely.

It looks like Ralph Wheeler has been cut.

Oh Wheeler is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

George looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
George throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Wheeler.

Wheeler is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables George to keep the fight standing.

Wheeler tightens his grip and picks George up, before dumping him to the ground. George manages to land in guard.
Wheeler really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

George scrambles and gets back to his feet.

George forces Wheeler back against the cage and clinches.

George pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

George gets in close and instigates a clinch.

George breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
George throws a series of punches but Wheeler avoids them all with ease.
Wheeler takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Wheeler avoids a punch combination nicely.

George misses with a few strikes there.
A head kick misses from George.

George feints and as Wheeler raises his hands in defense, George changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wheeler wants to get back to his feet but George passes into half guard.

George decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
George takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
George misses with a series of wild punches.
George throws a head kick that half lands.

George moves into the clinch.

Wheeler fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with George, pushing him back against the cage.

George pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
George misses with a double jab.
Wheeler seems to have got his legs back now.
George looks to land a right hand but Wheeler moved out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Wheeler.

George stuns Wheeler with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

George fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wheeler sprawls well initially but George persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Wheeler is desperately trying to improve his position but George has a good base and remains in mount.
George tries to control but Wheeler wriggling away.
Wheeler flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Wheeler is wriggling around trying to escape.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

George stands up from mount. Strange move.
George throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wheeler tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Arthur George seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Wheeler avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
George throws a series of punches but Wheeler moves out of range.
Wheeler takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Arthur George showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

George escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

George throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Wheeler tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. George is in Wheeler's guard.

Wheeler is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and George defends well.

George got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wheeler has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, George has managed to get both his arms back between Wheeler's legs - danger averted.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Wheeler has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. George is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Wheeler.

George decides to stand back up.
George throws a lazy head kick

George has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
George throws a series of punches but Wheeler avoids them all with ease.

George feints and then cracks Wheeler's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wheeler down.

George throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wheeler was covering up waiting for the punch and George finishes the takedown easily into guard.

George stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ralph Wheeler has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Arthur George is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I would just about give that final round to Arthur George.
Well George has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
