The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Der Vaart shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Barbery pinned against the cage. Barbery gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Van Der Vaart moves into the clinch.
Van Der Vaart has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Barbery after a bit of a struggle.
Van Der Vaart tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Barbery smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luc Van Der Vaart. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Barbery punishes Van Der Vaart's body with a nice straight punch.
Barbery scores with a jab. Van Der Vaart acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

It looks like Luc Van Der Vaart has been cut.
Barbery works the jab nicely.
Barbery circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Van Der Vaart to the canvas! Van Der Vaart doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Barbery keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
