PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dan Pak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pak's entrance music is its a fight. A fine choice. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pak fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Brooks doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Pak throws a right and a left that Brooks avoids nicely.
Brooks tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pak sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Brooks somewhat.
Brooks on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Brooks tries to keep at a distance but Pak has taken the fight into the clinch.
Pak tries for a takedown. No joy.
Brooks wants a takedown but no success here.
Pak is trying to pull guard but Brooks has him pressed against the cage.
Pak tries to circle away but Brooks has him pinned against the cage.
Pak tries to stall but Brooks uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pak tries to break free but Brooks pushes him back against the cage.
Brooks has Pak pressed against the cage, preventing Pak from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Brooks is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Pak has had enough of the clinch but Brooks keeps him there for the moment.
Pak is trying to break the clinch but Brooks is controlling him.
Pak has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Brooks after a bit of a struggle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Pak. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pak is trying to pull guard but Brooks has him pressed against the cage.
Pak is trying to break the clinch but Brooks is controlling him.
Brooks is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pak pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Pak tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Brooks smiles and moves away.
Brooks shoots in looking for a takedown but Pak manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Brooks's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Brooks fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Pak to the ground. Brooks is now in Pak's guard.

Brooks passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Pak gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Brooks fails to advance to Pak's back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pak tries to hold on but Brooks pushes him away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pak is trying desperately to improve position.

Brooks has control of Pak's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pak regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brooks fails to move to back control.
Brooks takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.

Brooks sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Pak taps out!
