The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos fails with an attempt to clinch.
Santos looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Vieira keeps the fight on the outside.
Vieira's coach down at Lethal Tech Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Vieira's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Santos tries to close the distance and clinch but Vieira swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Vieira closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Santos is trying to control but Vieira manages to pass to mount!
Santos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vieira on the ground.

Vieira is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Vieira swats away the attempt to clinch by Santos .

A momentary lapse in concentration from Santos enables Vieira to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Santos manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Vieira sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Santos 's guard.

Vieira is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Vieira controlling the position easily from mount.
Let's hope that Vieira has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Santos working to try and regain half guard.
Vieira tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Rodolfo Vieira wasn't active enough on the ground.

Vieira bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Vieira has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Santos is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Vieira yanks on the arm and Santos is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Vieira.
