Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Calvin Wagstaff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Parantainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wagstaff comes to the cage accompanied by How High. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wagstaff throws a head kick but Parantainen moves out of range.

Wagstaff fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Parantainen, pushing him back against the cage.
Wagstaff prevents the takedown attempt.

Wagstaff is trying to trip Parantainen. He has hold of a leg but Parantainen is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Wagstaff persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Wagstaff cracks Parantainen with a solid left hand.
Wagstaff wants to pass the guard but Parantainen is keeping the position.

Parantainen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Wagstaff postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Wagstaff stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Parantainen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Wagstaff swivels and escapes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Parantainen fails with a takedown attempt.
Calvin Wagstaff has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ray Parantainen.

Wagstaff moves into range and clinches up with Parantainen.

Wagstaff gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Parantainen won't allow Wagstaff to pass to mount.
Wagstaff tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Parantainen.
Parantainen is pressing down on Wagstaff's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Wagstaff has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Wagstaff throwing strikes but missing.
Parantainen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wagstaff's guard.
Parantainen stops Wagstaff from standing up.

Parantainen has gone for a leg lock! Wagstaff slips out almost immediately though and dives into Parantainen's guard.
Parantainen looks gassed!

Wagstaff gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Wagstaff goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Wagstaff throws a jab but it's blocked by Parantainen.

Wagstaff keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Parantainen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wagstaff tries to avoid it but Parantainen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wagstaff to the ground. Wagstaff escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Wagstaff rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Parantainen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Wagstaff misses with a double jab.

Calvin Wagstaff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wagstaff closes the distance and clinches.
Wagstaff throws an elbow but it misses.

Wagstaff pulls Parantainen into guard.

Parantainen drops back looking for a leg! Wagstaff is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wagstaff manages to kick Parantainen off! Parantainen jumps back into Wagstaff's guard.

Parantainen has gone for a leg lock! Wagstaff slips out almost immediately though and dives into Parantainen's guard.

Wagstaff seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Parantainen wants to sweep here but Wagstaff controlling him for the moment.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Parantainen tries to get to full guard but Wagstaff has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Parantainen is not content to let Wagstaff control the position.
Wagstaff looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Wagstaff decides to stand up.

Wagstaff shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Parantainen's guard.
Wagstaff might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Parantainen looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Wagstaff slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Calvin Wagstaff dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Wagstaff feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Wagstaff gets to his feet - Parantainen follows without any prompting.

Wagstaff gets the takedown into side control.
Parantainen manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Parantainen gets back to full guard.
Parantainen lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Wagstaff!
Wagstaff on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wagstaff tries to get out of the position.
Parantainen moves to the back position.
Wagstaff tries to escape but Parantainen has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Parantainen has his arm under Wagstaff's chin here. Game over son! Parantainen squeezes tightly and Wagstaff is forced to tap out!
