Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Spar Box (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonion Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Spar Box has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Spar Box!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antonion Jones!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Box has his takedown stuffed
and Jones counters with a left and a right that stings Box.
Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Box misses with a double jab.

Box instigates a clinch.
Box is trying to pull guard but Jones turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Box drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Spar Box. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jones pulls guard successfully.

Jones manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Box - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Jones tightens his grip and picks Box up, before dumping him to the ground. Box manages to land in guard.

Jones thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Box manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.

Jones kicks Box off and gets to his feet.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Jones has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jones closes the distance and pushes Box back into the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Box is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jones is defending well for now.
Jones changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Box fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Box shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jones eats them both and turns towards Box to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

and Jones counters with a three punch combo that has Box backing up. Box nods at Jones to acknowledge the strikes.

A looping hook to the body misses from Box. Jones does a little dance to reset his feet.
A slapping body kick lands there for Box.
Box doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.
Antonion Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Box.

Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Box gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Jones counters with a one-two to the body.

Jones gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Box jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jones walks away with a smile on his face. Box gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Jones fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Box will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Antonion Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Box is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Box tries to stall but Jones uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Box tries to pull guard but Jones holds him up against the cage and eventually Box drops back down to his feet.
Box has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jones avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Box is trying to control but Jones passes into side control!

Jones is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Box is trying to escape and Jones transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Box is forced to tap! Nice work there by Jones! Very nice indeed!
