Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Plainview (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Plainview.
Plainview dives in for a single leg takedown but Rua sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
A body shot lands from Plainview.
Plainview misses with a punch to the body.
Plainview tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Plainview misses with a shot to the kidneys.
The referee calls for Plainview to work.
Plainview can't find room to land a body shot as Rua controls the action.
Plainview tries for a takedown but Rua manages to get underhooks.

Rua tightens his grip and picks Plainview up, before dumping him to the ground. Plainview manages to land in guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Plainview has an active guard here but Rua has managed to pass into half guard.

Plainview has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rua can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Plainview is really struggling to control Rua but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Plainview is looking to work some ground and pound but Rua has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Plainview smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Plainview tries to clinch but Rua is having none of it.
Plainview ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rua moves away.
Plainview throws a series of punches but Rua moves out of range.

Plainview is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Plainview throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Rua escapes and throws Plainview's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Rua slaps away a takedown attempt from Plainview, before circling back to the center of the mat.

and Rua counters with a takedown into side control.
Plainview is looking to regain half guard here but Rua keeps moving and retains side control.
Plainview is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Rua off and has taken his back!
Plainview tries to get the hooks in deep but Rua pushed the leg off.
Rua manages to scramble and ends up in full guard, under a barage of strikes . Great composure from Rua.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

A very excited looking Daniel Plainview rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
