Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Huynh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spar Box (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tommy Huynh could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Spar Box's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tommy Huynh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Spar Box!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Box is trying hard to land a takedown here. Huynh sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Huynh throws a leg kick but Box moved away.

Huynh gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Huynh drags the fight down to the ground.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Huynh has control of Box's left arm, preventing Box from doing any damage.
Huynh throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Huynh pushes Box off and scrambles back to his feet.
Nice shot lands for Huynh.


It looks like Spar Box has been cut.
Huynh changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Box tries to avoid it but Huynh manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Box to the ground. Box escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Box gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Huynh counters with a single leg into guard. Box didn't expect that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Huynh passes Box's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Huynh frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Huynh is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Box can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Box is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Huynh working for a guillotine from mount but Box is in no mood to give up.

Box is desperately trying to improve his position but Huynh has a good base and remains in mount.
Box wants to control but Huynh is having none of it.

Huynh with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Huynh looking to finish Box with some ground and pound. This is bad for Box!

Huynh looking to secure an arm triangle but Box defends it well.
Box tries to hold on but Huynh pushes him away.

Huynh looking for a guillotine from mount but Box is having none of it.
Box squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Box is looking to get to half guard.

Huynh breaks from Box's wrist control and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Box shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Huynh sprawls well. Huynh wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Box gets slowly back to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Box is defended easily by Huynh.
Box pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Box is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Huynh shoots in looking for a takedown. Box tries to sprawl out of it but Huynh keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Box manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Box wants to clinch up but Huynh keeps it at a distance.
Huynh is looking to clinch but Box is avoiding it.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Box is defended easily by Huynh.
Tommy Huynh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Spar Box.
Box fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Huynh avoids it really well and circles away.

Huynh fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Box to the ground. Huynh is now in Box's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Box looking for a sweep. Not yet Box, not yet.
Huynh advances position into side control!
Huynh is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Box will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Box is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Huynh takes a little break here. Box wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Huynh thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Huynh tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Huynh has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Huynh throws a strike aimed at the side of Box's head but Box avoids it well.
Box is looking for a sweep.
Box wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Huynh content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Huynh in side control lands a decent elbow.

Huynh just content to control the position.
Box tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Huynh wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Huynh tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Huynh slows the pace down.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Huynh decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Box tries to clinch there but Huynh circles away.
Box looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Huynh moves into the clinch successfully.

Huynh sitting in guard, not really doing much.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Huynh has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Box wants to sweep but no luck.
Box not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Huynh content to stall in guard here.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Tommy Huynh just wasn't active enough.
Box changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Huynh tries to avoid it but Box manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Huynh to the ground. Huynh escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Huynh is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Box can do to turn this around?

Huynh is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Box is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
