Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Caol Uno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josef Urrah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Urrah is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Johnny Cash - Oney. Josef Urrah acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Caol Uno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Josef Urrah!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Illya Tyunina and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Urrah throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Uno sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Uno shoots for a double leg takedown but Urrah sprawls well. He's pushed Uno's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Urrah has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Urrah lands a nice looking body shot.
Urrah throws a hook but Uno avoids it easily.
Urrah misses with a few strikes there.

Uno closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Uno's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
I was talking to Uno's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Uno turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Uno manages to end up in side control.
Uno scores with a couple of short elbows.
Urrah regains half guard, as Uno was trying to land strikes.
Urrah is looking for a sweep. Uno is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Uno got a little sloppy there for a moment and Urrah has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Uno has managed to get both his arms back between Urrah's legs - danger averted.

Urrah has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Uno can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Uno accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Uno passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Urrah manages to work his way to half guard, despite Uno's best efforts.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Uno shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Urrah pinned against the cage. Urrah gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Urrah fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Uno on the side of the head.
Uno throws the left hand but Urrah avoids the punch easily.
Urrah defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Uno.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Uno, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
