Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Murdock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matthew Murdock!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Donnie Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson darts in looking for a takedown but Murdock gets double underhooks and turns Jackson into the cage.
Jackson fails to pull guard.
Murdock lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Jackson is looking to take this one to the mat.
Matthew Murdock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donnie Jackson.

Jackson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Murdock walks away with a smile on his face. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Jackson cracks Murdock with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Murdock feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Jackson's calf.
Jackson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Murdock.
Jackson takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

Murdock pushes Jackson up against the cage in a clinch.
Jackson lands a shoulder strike.
Jackson can't get the takedown.

Jackson gets control of Murdock's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jackson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Murdock tries to stand but Jackson is controlling from the bottom.
We've been hearing that Murdock has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

What's Murdock going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Murdock is looking to regain half guard here but Jackson keeps moving and retains side control.

Jackson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Murdock has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Jackson but great work by Murdock.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Murdock pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Murdock throws the kick towards the body but Jackson avoids it.

Murdock can't find room to land a body shot as Jackson controls the action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Donnie Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Matthew Murdock will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Jackson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Murdock is just riding it out for now. Jackson eventually gives up the hold.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Matthew Murdock.
I think Murdock has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
