Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Finley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sandra Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Finley gets caught napping as Hunter dives in and scores a takedown. Finley manages to retain guard.

Let's hope that Hunter has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Finley looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hunter is one step ahead there.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Sandra Hunter.

Hunter manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Finley on his heels. He'll look to pass Finley's guard now, I'm sure.

Hunter throws out a loose jab but Finley uses good head movement to avoid it.

Hunter fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Finley to the ground. Hunter is now in Finley's guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hunter connects with a nice short shot to Finley's temple.
Still in half guard, Hunter seems content to control.

Hunter slips a nice elbow through Finley's hands, connecting with Finley's forehead.
Hunter tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Hunter drops an elbow to the side of Finley's head.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Sandra Hunter hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Finley tries to clinch but Hunter is having none of it.

Hunter clinches with his opponent.

Hunter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hunter closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Hunter works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hunter is figuring out what he wants to do next.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hunter throws a leg kick that misses.

Hunter darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Hunter wants to work for an arm triangle but Finley is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Hunter is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Finley doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hunter.
Sandra Hunter has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hunter wants to free his trapped foot but Finley is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hunter is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Finley has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hunter is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hunter working over Finley with some ground and pound. Finley looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Hunter scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Finley is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Sandra Hunter wasn't active enough on the ground.

Hunter closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Finley is rocked!
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hunter lands a nice short elbow.
Oh Finley is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hunter works his foot free and advances to mount.
Hunter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Hunter! Finley is hurt baaadly! Hunter is firing away with more strikes - Finley is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
