Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Torrens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thor Walden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Torrens might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The way I am . Jonathan Torrens has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jonathan Torrens!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thor Walden!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Alyssa Summers and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Walden enables Torrens to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Walden manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Torrens trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Walden looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Torrens cracks Walden with a solid left hand.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Torrens is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Torrens postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Torrens passes easily into side control. Nice work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Torrens wants to lay and pray for a moment but Walden keeps working.

We've been hearing that Torrens has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Walden has hold of Torrens's hands but Torrens slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Torrens working over Walden with some ground and pound. Walden looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Torrens lands a nice short elbow.
Walden is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Torrens's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Torrens's back!

Walden is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Torrens has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Walden is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Torrens is surviving well by controlling Walden's body position as best he can.
Torrens is wriggling around trying to escape.
Torrens on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Torrens tries to get out of the position.
Torrens is working hard here to advance position.

Walden looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Walden prevents Torrens from getting the reversal.
Torrens bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Walden had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Torrens defends it easily.

Torrens drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Torrens jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Walden is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Torrens will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Torrens is nestled in close to Walden, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Torrens is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Walden sees it coming and defends easily.

Torrens tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Torrens has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Torrens lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Walden down.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Walden can't do much from the bottom here.
Walden is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Torrens is staying active.

Torrens feints and as Walden raises his hands in defense, Torrens changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Torrens got a little sloppy there for a moment and Walden has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Torrens has managed to get both his arms back between Walden's legs - danger averted.

As Jonathan Torrens got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: I got a lot of respect for Thor, but tonight was just my night. Proud to be the new 155 Champion in this org!'.
