Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Wimms (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oldemar Murtinho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murtinho doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Wimms counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Murtinho works his way to full guard. Good work.
Murtinho working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Wimms has passed into half guard!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Murtinho shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wimms's guard.

Wimms pulls Murtinho in close to his closed guard and prevents Murtinho from doing any damage or advancing position.

Murtinho thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Wimms is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Murtinho wants to control but Wimms is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wimms changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Murtinho looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Wimms is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jim Wimms just wasn't active enough.

and Wimms counters with a takedown into side control.
Wimms remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Jim Wimms overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Wimms stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Murtinho swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Murtinho is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wimms defends well.
Wimms is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Murtinho has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Wimms is looking to defend but Murtinho has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Wimms! Murtinho pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Wimms taps out and this one is all over!
