The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cold shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Stark's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Cold tries to stand but Stark is controlling from the bottom.
Stark has Cold pulled in close to control his posture.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Stark fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Stark shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cold pinned against the cage. Cold gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Stark cracks Cold with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Stark throws out a loose jab but Cold uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cold shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Stark eats them both and turns towards Cold to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Stark tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cold swivels and escapes.
Stark looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Cold escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cold throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Cold has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Stark wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Cold.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Stark drops back, looking for a kneebar! Cold looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Cold looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Cold!

Cold tries to score with some ground and pound. Stark controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Cold remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
