Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yi Liu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fatu Tua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liu 's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Superman - Jucifer. The crowd seem to be enjoying Tua's choice of entrance music: Freak on a Leash by Korn. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tua fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Liu on the side of the head.

Tua is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Liu had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Liu has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tua can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Liu turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Liu manages to end up in side control.

Tua pushes Liu away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Liu gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Liu wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tua keeps working.

Tua tries to bench press Liu off him but Liu keeps the position.
A lull in the action here as Liu stalls from top position.

You can see the frustration on Liu 's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Yi Liu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
My spies in Bruize Brothers inform me that Tua has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
