PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hugh Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Kelz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson Kelz told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rose gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kelz lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Rose backwards.
Kelz is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kelz has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Kelz lands with a short shot to the head.
Rose wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

and Kelz makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Kelz throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Rose drives through and clinches with Kelz against the cage.

Rose breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kelz walks forward, straight into a front kick from Rose.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kelz pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Rose pushes Kelz up against the cage in a clinch.
Rose wants to break free but Kelz has control.

Rose breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kelz is defended easily by Rose.

Rose darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Rose wants to work for an arm triangle but Kelz is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
