PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chung Montoya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dakota Kelz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dakota Kelz told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chung Montoya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dakota Kelz!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montoya goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Kelz misses with a few strikes there.
Montoya throws a sloppy head kick and Kelz moves out of range easily.
Montoya avoids the head kick by Kelz.
Kelz tries to clinch up but Montoya circles away and keeps his distance.
Kelz moves in looking to clinch but Montoya pushes him off.
Montoya avoids a punch combination nicely.

Montoya closes the distance and clinches.

Montoya manages to pull guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Montoya bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kelz's guard.
Montoya not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Montoya prevents Kelz from getting back to his feet.
Kelz looks winded!
Montoya working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Montoya slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Montoya postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Montoya is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Chung Montoya just wasn't active enough.
Montoya swats away the attempt to clinch by Kelz.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kelz swinging wildly here.

Kelz gets the takedown into side control.
Montoya manages to work his way to half guard, despite Kelz's best efforts.

Montoya manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Kelz keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Montoya manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Montoya has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Kelz should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Montoya has tightened it up now! Kelz should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
