Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dany Devito!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Firen!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Devito shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Devito trying to control but Firen is working from the bottom.
Devito won't allow Firen to sweep him here.
Devito wants to control from the top but Firen keeps moving.
Firen trying to keep a closed guard but Devito is proving a slippery customer.
Firen pulls Devito in close to prevent any damage.

We're going to have a standup here because Dany Devito wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Firen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Firen stalks Devito and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Devito's face. Devito staggers backwards, shaken.
A swing and a miss from Devito.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Devito leaves Firen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Devito misses with a right hand
and Firen counters with a two punch combo.
Firen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Firen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Firen wants it to stay on the feet.
Nice sprawl there from Firen as Devito shoots in.
Devito shoots for a double leg takedown but Firen sprawls well. He's pushed Devito's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dany Devito. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Firen misses with a low kick.
Devito is trying hard to land a takedown here. Firen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Devito pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Firen gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Devito to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Firen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Devito manages to get himself to full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Firen stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Devito throws up his legs and catches Firen in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Firen tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Devito! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Dany Devito!
