Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Damian Nitschke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dc Gable!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Ben Watson and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nitschke darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Nitschke is trying to control. Gable wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Gable tries to roll over but Nitschke keeps him under control.
Nitschke wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gable keeps working.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Damian Nitschke wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Gable bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Gable swings for the body but Nitschke moves out of range.
Gable takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Gable throws a low kick but it's checked well by Nitschke.

Nitschke bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Nitschke misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Gable is trying to control Nitschke's posture but Nitschke avoids it.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Gable gets caught napping as Nitschke dives in and scores a takedown. Gable manages to retain guard.
