Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Anthony (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keith Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephen Anthony!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Keith Martin!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anthony bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Martin is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Anthony asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Martin is working to avoid the ground and pound but Anthony connects with a decent elbow.
Martin parries the strikes from Anthony easily there. Anthony is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Martin to escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Martin is trying to control Anthony's posture but Anthony avoids it.

Anthony is looking to take a break and control but Martin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Martin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Anthony has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Martin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anthony. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Keith Martin.
Anthony lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.


It looks like Keith Martin has been cut.
Martin throws a jab but it's blocked by Anthony.

Keith Martin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Martin missing with a left hand there. Anthony was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Keith Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Martin connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Anthony throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Martin sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Anthony takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Anthony darts in looking for a takedown but Martin gets double underhooks and turns Anthony into the cage.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stephen Anthony. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Anthony keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Martin throws a shot from downtown. Anthony moves away and avoids it.
Anthony throws a hook but Martin avoids it easily.
Martin comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Martin throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Anthony throws the left hand but Martin avoids the punch easily.
Anthony throws a solid leg kick but Martin takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Anthony.
Martin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Anthony was well out of range. Poor timing from Martin.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Stephen Anthony will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Keith Martin's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Martin moves into range and connects with a jab.
Martin pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Anthony back to the cage. Martin follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Anthony takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
The fighters circle momentarily. Martin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Martin looks to land a right hand but Anthony moved out of range.

Anthony fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Martin sprawls well initially but Anthony persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Anthony not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Martin is looking for a sweep. Anthony is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Anthony working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Martin is defending against the submission attempts here by Anthony.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Anthony throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Martin is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Martin pushes Anthony away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Anthony gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
We've been hearing good reports from Anthony's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Martin is not content to let Anthony control the position.
Anthony tries to advance to mount but can't.
Anthony wants to lay and pray for a moment but Martin keeps working.

Anthony is working to tighten his grip on Martin's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Martin has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Anthony is really squeezing tight and eventually Martin passes out! Anthony breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Stephen Anthony!
A relieved looking Stephen Anthony thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
