The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A thudding body kick lands there by Holandjanin!
Holandjanin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Velez just misses with a punch to the body.
Velez really is a fat lump.
Holandjanin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Velez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Holandjanin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Velez scores with a short punch from the bottom.
Velez has his hands on Holandjanin's head, controlling the position.
Holandjanin trying to control but Velez is working from the bottom.
Velez has momentary wrist control but Holandjanin slips an elbow through the middle.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Holandjanin is fighting to break Velez's control of his arms but Velez is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Velez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Velez is on top in guard.
Holandjanin is striking from the bottom but Velez uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Holandjanin wants to get back to full guard but Velez has mounted him!
Holandjanin tries to improve his position but Velez has taken his back! Velez has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Holandjanin tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Velez pushes Holandjanin away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
