The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durand waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Meis.
Meis misses with a wild body shot.
Durand displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Meis throws out the jab.
Durand scores with a decent looking hook.
Meis throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Meis throws the left hand but Durand avoids the punch easily.
Durand uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Meis.
Meis ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Meis connects with a jab.
Meis throws a hook to the side of Durand's head but Durand sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

It looks like Carl Durand has been cut.

Durand gets tackled into the cage by Meis. Meis maintains the clinch.
Meis lands a right hand that snaps the head of Durand backwards.
A nice left hand lands by Meis.
Durand tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Meis just stands there and leans against the cage.
Durand avoids the elbow strike from Meis, against the cage.
Still in the clinch, Meis scores with a nice short uppercut.
Durand is trying to pull guard but Meis has him pressed against the cage.

Durand should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Durand jumps guard but Meis stands there with Durand around his waist. Durand gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Durand seems to have recovered his senses.

Meis lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Durand backwards.
Durand avoiding damage as Meis throws knees to the body.

Meis drops Durand onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Durand is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Durand fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Meis lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Durand to his knees! Meis keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
