PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Harris!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jones fails in his attempt to clinch.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Jones checks a leg kick.

Harris closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jones to the mat! Jones manages to get full guard.
Harris is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Harris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jones wants to stand but Harris is controlling the position.
Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Harris on the ground.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Harris works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Harris looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jones with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Harris slips a nice elbow through Jones's hands, connecting with Jones's forehead.
Harris content to control rather than advance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Harris connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.
Harris content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Jones is trying to stand back up but Harris is controlling him
Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Harris is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jones sees it coming and defends easily.
Harris with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Harris works his foot free and advances to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harris controlling the pace for now.

Harris throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Jones has his hands clasped together but Harris breaks the hold and Jones is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Harris!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Bob Harris!
